For those of you who enjoy playing the game, Sonic the Hedgehog, you are most likely familiar with the very popular villain, Metal Sonic. You may also be fascinated with the prospect of drawing him. As luck would have it, Metal Sonic is not that hard to draw. This is due to his body being made from mostly simple shapes. By using the following instructions, you will see how to draw Metal Sonic.

1. To begin, make a big oval shape with a small circle underneath. You have now drawn Metal Sonic’s head and body.

   

2. Add 2 rounded triangles on either side of the smaller circle. Those triangles need to have 2 small tubes added with circles on the end. Now, add 2 more tubes following the circles. You have just drawn Metal Sonic’s arms. Add 2 more tubes underneath the little circle.

3. For Metal Sonic’s hands, add 2 squares/rectangles at the ends of the arm tubes. Now, add 2 additional leg tubes bending them to the right on the end of the leg tubes.

   

4. To make Metal Sonic’s ears, add 2 triangles on the beginning oval at the top. Then add triangles for the thumbs to the hands. Fingers are made by adding another rectangle to each of the hands’ ends. Add 2 rectangles each to the ends of the legs. Add 1 set of horizontal rectangles and 1 set of vertical rectangles each to the bottoms of the legs.

5. Now you are ready to draw Metal Sonic’s face. As his head resembles Darth Vador’s helmet, you can use a picture of that for inspiration. For Metal Sonic’s eyes, create goggles with the pupils really close together. Under the pupils, draw a triangular nose.

6. To draw his belly, create a circle and another circle in the middle of it. The inner circle should be colored black with lines radiating from the black circle to the ends of the 2nd circle. Darken the rounded triangles for the shoulders and use squares for the arm tubes.

7. Using the hand you drew in 3rd step, create a 3D square. Add some sharp angles on the fingers.

8. Darken leg tube lines, widening the bottom leg tubes. The 1st set of rectangles added should be rounded. Now, add circles to the right of them. Make shoes out of angular rectangles that have pointy bottoms. Secondary lines are added for depth.

9. You have created your Metal Sonic and he is ready to be colored now.
